Region ‘Steinfurt’
3 key illustrations; digital and print ( 3000×1000 mm )
Done in co-operation with spilett technologies this project supports the region of Steinfurt (Germany) in the transition from importing fossil fuels towards clean energy production onsite. Three large scale illustrations were done to represent different scenarios of integration.
The main purpose of those images was to visually aid the local community in picturing changes in landscape that the ‚new industry‘ would bring. A main focus being the ‘Flexkraftwerk’ which converts electricity into hydrogen. By using a winter, summer and night scenario many hesitations of an intrusive technology could be mitigated while the focus was shifted to the positive effects. Only windmills remain a discussion amongst many changemakers due to their towering appearance, noise production and irritation of fauna.
The illustrations were iterated with the feedback given by the local community and were shown during the final presentation as printouts.
